New Mexico State University’s Employee Council will host the ninth annual Employee Appreciation Picnic from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 25, at Preciado Park on the NMSU campus. The park is adjacent to O’Donnell Hall at the corner of Gregg Street and Williams Avenue.

“The employee picnic is a great time for all NMSU employees to come together as a college family to eat, relax and meet others we may not see in our day-to-day work life. The picnic will also be a great time to visit and talk with our chancellor and our president. They will both be present at the picnic this year. We will be able to come together and talk, share and learn what is going on around campus. It is important to remember that we are all working towards the same goals, increasing employee morale and student success,” said Sonia A. White, chair of the NMSU Employee Council and multimedia specialist at DACC in the Library and Learning Technology Department.

This year the “A” Mountain Staff Award will be presented by Chancellor Dan Arvizu and President John Floros.

The Employee Council is an advisory body to the NMSU leadership for all matters affecting NMSU employees. Members participate in 18 standing committees that focus on the administration of university policies, initiatives and incentives.

All employees are encouraged to attend Employee Council meetings, participation is also available through a webcast. The Employee Council meets at 2:30 p.m. every second Thursday of the month in Milton Hall, Room 85.
