Cru, formerly known as Campus Crusade for Christ, embarks on their annual conference trip in Denver, Dec. 28 through Jan. 2, 2014.

The conference, one of 10 regional conferences nationwide, is filled with worship, guest speakers and holiday festivities.

As one of the campus ministries available on the New Mexico State University campus, Cru serves as a place for students to find a community of people who are passionate about Jesus.

"It's unique because it's not just here at New Mexico State, it's on thousands of campuses in the United States," said Phillip Robinson, adviser for Cru.

Events include guest speakers, worship, flash mob on the 16th Street Mall, red carpet prom and seminars for members seeking specific growth opportunities.

"Not only do the students benefit from the incredible teaching and seminars but also the community and friendships that develop, which can last a lifetime," Robinson said.

The Denver conference includes six states, drawing in more than 1,000 students.

Cru meets every Thursday at 7:30 p.m. for Thursday Night Live in the Corbett Student Union Auditorium. They seek to help students experience a deeper relationship with God.
