NMSU professor earns Globalization Award
Candace Kaye, an associate professor in New Mexico State University's College of Education, has been selected for the 2013 NMSU Globalization Award. The award presentation will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the Corbett Center Auditorium.
Kaye, who teaches in the curriculum and instruction department, is being recognized for her significant contributions to enhancing international education at NMSU.
The award ceremony is part of International Education Week at NMSU. Associate Provost for the Office of International and Border Programs Cornell Menking, College of Education Dean Michael Morehead and Provost Dan Howard will present the award to Kaye.
For the first time, the award also has a monetary gift of $1,000. Faculty, staff, administrators and other members of the NMSU community are eligible to be nominated for the award, which honors important contributions and tireless commitment to internationalizing NMSU. The accolade has been awarded since 1997.
"Candace Kaye is very deserving of this honor and recognition," Morehead said. "During the last five years and during the past year, she has been a leader and trailblazer in the international program area. During her Fulbright year, she worked primarily in Mongolia with the Mongolian State University of Education."
In addition to her work in Mongolia, Kaye has worked with several other institutions across Asia, including Beijing Normal University.
