BARNES AND NOBLE OPEN MIC NIGHTS

Barnes & Noble at NMSU will continue the popular Open Mic performances from 5 to 8 p.m. Fridays. To sign up to perform, contact bncafe@nmsu.edu.

Open Mic is free of charge and open to the public. Free parking is available in designated spaces. Barnes & Noble at NMSU is located at 1400 E. University Ave. For more information, call 575-646-5822.

NMSU DEPARTMENT OF LANGUAGES AND LINGUISTICS TO HOST BOOK TALK

NMSU's Department of Languages and Linguistics will host a book presentation at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the Nason House, 1070 University Ave.

Jose Manuel Garcia, a professor of Spanish at NMSU, will discuss "Triguena," a historical novel by Juana Moriel-Payne, based on the life of a baker who lived in Chihuahua, Mexico, during the 18th century.

This event is free and open to the public.

NMSU THEATRE ARTS PRESENTS 'A CHRISTMAS CAROL'

At 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, the American Southwest Theatre Company will preview the musical rendition of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," as adapted by Tom Smith, director of the NMSU Department of Theatre Arts, with music by Roger Butterley. The show will take place at the NMSU Center for the Arts.

The production will officially open at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at the same location. The College of Arts and Sciences will host a reception during the intermission. For more information and ticket prices, call 575-646-4515.

NMSU ATHLETICS PRESENTS BASKETBALL, VOLLEYBALL

NMSU Men's Basketball will take on the University of Northern Colorado at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the Pan American Center.

NMSU Women's Basketball will face Eastern New Mexico University at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at the Pan American Center.

NMSU Volleyball will compete against Utah Valley University at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at the Pan American Center.
