New Mexico State University's Center for Latin American and Border Studies will host research presentations from three 2013 Nason Foundation Scholars at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Nason House, 1070 University Ave.

Each of these students won a travel grant funded by the Nason Foundation, to pursue their research in a Latin American country: two in Guatemala and one in Venezuela.

Angela Medina Garcia, a biology doctoral student, will discuss her study of parrot intelligence among anacondas, mosquitoes and bulls in the Venezuelan plains.

Iliana Villegas, who is pursuing a master's degree in anthropology, will talk about an ethnographic perspective of human trafficking and human rights in Guatemala.

Addison Warner, who is also working towards a master's degree in anthropology, will present an in-depth investigation to the function of chultuns, underground storage facilities in Uaxactun, an ancient ruin of Maya civilization, which is located in present day Peten, Guatemala.
