BARNES AND NOBLE OPEN MIC NIGHTS

Barnes & Noble at NMSU will continue the popular Open Mic performances from 5 to 8 p.m. Fridays. To sign up to perform, contact bncafe@nmsu.edu.

Open Mic is free of charge and open to the public. Free parking is available in designated spaces. Barnes & Noble at NMSU is located at 1400 E. Universi ty Ave. For more information, call 575-646-5822.

NMSU MUSIC DEPARTMENT TO HOST MUSICAL PERFORMANCES

At 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Atkinson Recital Hall, Daniel Vega-Albela, NMSU faculty member and violinist with the Latin Grammy Award-winning ensemble La Catrina Quartet, will perform in a duo recital alongside visiting guest artist Odin Rathnam. This event is free and open to the public.

At 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, the NMSU Wind Symphony and Jazz Ensemble will perform a scholarship concert in recognition of the donors who have made financial contributions to the NMSU Music Department. This performance will take place at the Atkinson Recital Hall, and is free and open to the public.

At 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, C4, NMSU's student chamber orchestra, will perform a concert at the Atkinson Recital Hall. This performance is free and open to the public.

El Paso Pro-Musica will present "Schumann's World," with cellist Zuill Bailey and pianist Navah Perlman, on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at the Atkinson Recital Hall.

There will be a pre-concert talk at 7 p.m., with the concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. Prices are as follows: $25 for adults, $20 for senior citizens and military, and $5 for students. For more information, call 575-646-2421.

At 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, the Dona Ana Lyric Opera will perform songs from Brigadoon, Camelot, and My Fair Lady during "A Tribute to Lerner and Loewe" at the Atkinson Recital Hall. Admission is free and this event is open to the public.

NMSU THEATRE ARTS PRESENTS FINAL SHOWINGS OF 'RED'

At 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, NMSU Theatre Arts will present their final showings of John Logan's Tony Award-winning play "Red" at NMSU's Center for the Arts.
