BARNES AND NOBLE OPEN MIC NIGHTS

Barnes & Noble at NMSU will continue the popular Open Mic performances from 5 to 8 p.m. Fridays. To sign up to perform, contact bncafe@nmsu.edu.

Open Mic is free of charge and open to the public. Free parking is available in designated spaces. Barnes & Noble at NMSU is located at 1400 E. University Ave. For more information, call 575-646-5822.

UNIVERSITY ART GALLERY TO OPEN EVENTS AND HOST POETRY READING

NMSU's Art Department's biennial fundraiser, "Project: Postcard," will officially open to the public from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, at the University Art Gallery at NMSU. Each work of art on display is the size of a postcard and anonymous.

The public has the opportunity to purchase tickets that they can then trade in for an individual artwork at the Oct. 11 sales event. Tickets are $40 and proceeds go to the Art Department Visiting Artist Fund. For more information, visit the NMSU Art Department website at artdepartment.nmsu.edu.

The University Art Gallery's "Conserving Tradition: Caring for the NMSU Retablo Collection" will also open to the public at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4.

At 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4, poet Valerie Finn will be performing a reading in the University Art Gallery as part of the La Sociedad para las Artes reading series. For more information, visit english.nmsu.edu.

RASCAL FLATTS 'LIVE & LOUD' TOUR COMES TO PAN AM

American country music band Rascal Flats will perform live with The Band Perry and this year's winner of NBC's "The Voice," Cassadee Pope at NMSU's Pan American Center at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3.

Rascal Flatts has had 14 singles at the top of the country music charts and will perform some older hits as well as new music from their No. 1 eighth studio album, "Changed."

Tickets for the event are $49.50, $62.50 and $69.50 (plus applicable fees) and are available at the Pan Am Ticket Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 1-800-745-3000, and online at http://bit.ly/11uSukh. NMSU SPECIAL EVENTS AND NMSU INSIDER TO HOST TICKET GIVEAWAY

NMSU Special Events and the NMSU Insider social networks are giving away five pairs of tickets to the Rascal Flatts "Live & Loud" concert, which will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, at the NMSU Pan American Center.

One winner will be announced each day from Sept. 30 through Oct. 2, and two winners will be announced the day of the concert on Oct. 3. Each winner will receive two free tickets.

To enter, you must possess a Facebook account and "Join" the Facebook event page at facebook.com/events/458618150887479/, so that your account identifies you as "Going." Winners will be randomly drawn from all accounts identified as "Going" at the time of the drawings. Each drawing will be held at a random time each day. Winners will be notified via Facebook to arrange a pick-up time within regular business hours. Winners who are unable to claim their prize during the specified time and location will forfeit their prize.

AGGIE ATHLETICS PRESENTS FOOTBALL, VOLLEYBALL

NMSU Football will face San Diego State University at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at Aggie Memorial Stadium.

NMSU Volleyball will play against California State University at Bakersfield at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at the NMSU Pan American Center.
