BARNES AND NOBLE OPEN MIC NIGHTS

Barnes & Noble at NMSU will continue the popular Open Mic performances from 5 to 8 p.m. Fridays. To sign up to perform, contact bncafe@nmsu.edu.

Open Mic is free of charge and open to the public. Free parking is available in designated spaces. Barnes & Noble at NMSU is located at 1400 E. University Ave. For more information, call 575-646-5822.

UNIVERSITY ART GALLERY TO HOST GALLERY TALK

The University Art Gallery at NMSU will host a gallery talk with collector Lawrence Gipe, professor of painting at the University of Arizona, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21.

Gipe will speak about the mid-20th century German Op-Art Ceramics currently on display in the "Black & White & Caliente" themed shows. This informal event will last about one hour, and is free and open to the public.

ATKINSON HALL HOSTS VOCAL EVENT

Christa Brianne, a mezzo-soprano, will present her senior vocal recital at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Atkinson Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.

NMSU CONTEMPORARY DANCE THEATRE PRESENTS FESTIVAL OF DANCES

The NMSU Contemporary Dance Theatre will continue Festival of Dances at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Rentfrow Gym.

This event is a fundraiser to help cover the cost of sending dance students to the American College Dance Festival (ACDF) at the University of Texas in spring 2014. ACDF is a week-long dance conference at which NMSU dance students have the opportunity to perform and take classes from dance professors and guest artists from all over the United States. NMSU dance students and faculty have been attending the conference since 1998.

Tickets for Festival of Dances are $10, and all seating is general admission. Tickets can be purchased in advance from any company member, or they may be purchased at the door. For more information call 575-646-2070.

NMSU THEATRE ARTS PRESENTS 'RED'

NMSU's Theatre Arts will present "Red," a play about artist Mark Rothko, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at NMSU's Center for the Arts. For ticket information, call 575-646-4515.

JORDAN 'SHRINE' CIRCUS COMES TO PAN AM

The Jordan "Shrine" Circus will return to the NMSU Pan American Center for one night only, 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27. Tickets are $16 for adults, $12 for children and will only be available at the Pan Am Ticket Office the day of the event. Free children's tickets are available at participating local merchants.

RASCAL FLATTS 'LIVE AND LOUD' TOUR COMES TO PAN AM

American country music band Rascal Flats will perform live with The Band Perry and this year's winner of NBC's "The Voice," Cassadee Pope at NMSU's Pan American Center at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3.

Rascal Flatts has had 14 singles at the top of the country music charts and will perform some older hits as well as new music from their No. 1 eighth studio album, "Changed."

AGGIE ATHLETICS PRESENTS SOCCER, VOLLEYBALL

NMSU Volleyball will face South Dakota State University at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 and University of New Mexico at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, at the NMSU Recreation Center.

NMSU Soccer will play against University of Missouri-Kansas City at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, at the NMSU Soccer Field.
