NMSU begins search for vice president for university advancement

New Mexico State University has finalized a search committee for its next vice president for university advancement and president of the NMSU Foundation.


NMSU President Garrey Carruthers has asked Angela Throneberry, NMSU senior vice president for administration and finance, to chair the search. An executive search firm will be selected to assist the committee with a national search. A Request for Proposal has been distributed, with proposals due to the university Aug. 22.

The search committee includes:

Lee Ellen Banks, NMSU Foundation Board
Nick Franklin, NMSU Foundation Board
Brenda Porter, NMSU Foundation Board
Ammu Devasthali, Las Cruces community member and donor
Tina Byford, interim vice president, University Advancement
Tammie Aragon Campos, director, Alumni Affairs
Dennis Clason, chair, Faculty Senate
Steve Elias, department head, Department of Management
James Hall, associate athletics director, Athletics
David Maestas, president, ASNMSU
Mike Morehead, dean, College of Education
Andrea Tawney, assistant dean and development officer
Pamela Wood, member, Employee Council
Julie Hughes, director, Public Affairs, will serve as a resource to the committee.
