BARNES AND NOBLE OPEN MIC NIGHTS


Barnes & Noble at NMSU will continue the popular Open Mic performances from 5 to 8 p.m. Fridays. To sign up to perform, contact bncafe@nmsu.edu.

Open Mic is free of charge and open to the public. Free parking is available in designated spaces. Barnes & Noble at NMSU is located at 1400 E. University Ave. For more information, call 575-646-5822.

UNIVERSITY ART GALLERY TO HOST EXHIBITS

Stephanie Taylor, director of the University Art Gallery at NMSU, will give a walk-through of the current exhibitions on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 1 to 2 p.m. The current exhibitions are arranged under the theme "Black & White & Caliente."

The exhibits include photographs of Cuba taken in 1997 by French photographer Patrick Glaize, as well as photographs with a social message from the gallery's permanent collection. Black and white mass-produced porcelain ware will also be exhibited in "German Op-Art Ceramics, 1955-1975."

'WILD THINGS' CHARACTER TO VISIT BARNES AND NOBLE

Barnes & Noble at NMSU presents the opportunity for the public to meet one of the beloved Wild Things from the children's book and motion picture, "Where the Wild Things Are," on Sept. 7 at 11 a.m., and Sept. 8 at noon in the bookstore's southeast living room on the second floor.

There will be another chance to meet the character on Sept. 7 at 4 p.m. at the NMSU Bookstore tent at the north entrance of Aggie Memorial Stadium prior to the football game. For more information, call 575-646-4431.

BARNES AND NOBLE PRESENTS COSMO ON CAMPUS

Barnes & Noble at NMSU presents "Cosmo on Campus" by L'Oréal Paris from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13.

Admission is on a first-come, first-serve basis for NMSU students only and will feature mini manicures, makeovers and hair consultations by L'Oréal professionals. NMSU is one of only ten college campuses to host this event.

RASCAL FLATS 'LIVE AND LOUD' TOUR COMES TO PAN AM

American country music band Rascal Flats will perform live with The Band Perry and this year's winner of NBC's "The Voice," Cassadee Pope at NMSU's Pan American Center at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3.

Rascal Flatts has had 14 singles at the top of the country music charts and will perform some older hits as well as new music from their No. 1 eighth studio album, "Changed."

AGGIE ATHLETICS PRESENTS FOOTBALL, SOCCER, VOLLEYBALL

NMSU Football will play their first home game against University of Minnesota at 6 p.m. on Sept. 7 at Aggie Memorial Stadium.

NMSU Soccer will face University of California, Riverside at 1 p.m. on Sept. 8 at the NMSU Soccer Field.

NMSU Volleyball will face Southern Utah University at 10 a.m. Sept. 13 and University of Arkansas at Little Rock at 7:30 p.m. at the NMSU Recreation Center.
