BARNES AND NOBLE OPEN MIC NIGHTS

Barnes & Noble at NMSU will continue the popular Open Mic performances from 5 to 8 p.m. Fridays. To sign up to perform, contact bncafe@nmsu.edu.

Open Mic is free of charge and open to the public. Free parking is available in designated spaces. Barnes & Noble at NMSU is located at 1400 E. University Ave. For more information, call 646-5822.

UNIVERSITY ART GALLERY 'SELECTIONS FROM THE PERMANENT COLLECTION'

The NMSU University Art Gallery will continue to feature "Selections from the Permanent Collection" through Aug. 3. The exhibition works includes prints, paintings, photographs, metals and ceramics.

A rare close-up glimpse of Tom Lea's "History of Mesilla" murals will be offered during the exhibition. Gallery Talks about the exhibition will be offered by Professor Stephanie Taylor on Aug. 3 beginning at 1 p.m. All programming is free and open to the public.

The University Art Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. over the summer, except for national holidays.

RASCAL FLATS "LIVE AND LOUD" TOUR COMES TO PAN AM

American country music band Rascal Flats will perform live with The Band Perry and this year's winner of NBC's "The Voice," Cassadee Pope at NMSU's Pan American Center at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3.

Rascal Flatts has had 14 singles at the top of the country music charts and will perform some older hits as well as new music from their No. 1 eighth studio album, "Changed."
