The 2013 4-H state ambassadors and diplomats were inducted into office during the 4-H Senior Leadership Retreat in Albuquerque in January.

Selected as ambassadors were Brian Roberts of Taos County, Allison Wilton of De Baca County, Kelsey Dobesh of Santa Fe County and Wade Stearns of Lincoln County. Members of the diplomat team are Sullivan Woodall of Dona Ana County, Brooke Baca of Santa Fe County, Makayla Richardson of Dona Ana County and Wade Roberts of Taos County.

The senior 4-H members will share the ambassador and diplomat responsibilities, which include assisting with livestock shows at the New Mexico State Fair, planning and conducting the 2014 senior leadership retreat and assisting with the State 4-H Conference.

They will also attend the Arizona team leadership camp - "Journey: Opportunities for Leaders of Tomorrow" - and assist the New Mexico 4-H Youth Foundation in contacting donors and with public relations.

The two four-person teams were selected from applicants judged on their public speaking on the topic of how to attract more 4-H members to the senior leadership retreat and how they performed during a group project.
