The Engineering New Mexico Resource Network at New Mexico State University and the NMSU Civil Engineering Department will present a workshop on Wells, Pumps, Etc., on Saturday, March 9 to help improve water management during the ongoing drought in southern New Mexico. The seminar will provide technical information on water management and on design and operation of wells and pumping systems. The seminar is for farmers, water managers, and people who are involved in developing and operating water systems.

Topics to be covered in the seminar include status and future projection of groundwater, water conservation techniques, design of wells and pumps, design and management of pump motors and engines, tackling water quality and salinity issues and increasing water use efficiency through soil modification. The seminar offers five professional development hours for professional engineers.
