NMSU's Arrowhead Center offers $3,000 grand prize for Code Challenge
Software developers and aspiring entrepreneurs with an original software or product design are encouraged to enter the competition for a chance to win a top prize of $3,000 cash, a one-year lease of office space and mentoring and guidance by a business adviser on how to take their product to the next level.
"The purpose of this challenge is to invest in people, ideas and ultimately stimulate an already budding crop of tech companies in our community," said Zetdi Runyan, program manager for the Arrowhead Center at NMSU.
Judged by a panel of entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and industry subject matter experts, individuals or groups of up to five people who are serious about taking their product to the next level will compete in three main categories: innovation, commercial viability and public voting.
Along with informing applicants of the startup business assistance that is available through the Arrowhead Center, two other cash prizes - $1,500 for second place and $500 for third - will also be awarded.
The competition is open to residents of New Mexico, nonresident NMSU students and El Paso County residents who are at least 18 years of age.
