More than 130 New Mexico State University students will be recognized during the NMSU College of Business' 2012 scholarship luncheon, "'Guiding Stars' Meet With 'Rising Stars.'" The event takes place at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, at the East Ballroom at Corbett Center Student Union.

The College of Business has awarded 83 scholarships to 132 students, totaling $155,120 for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Trevor Serrao will be this year's scholarship recipient speaker. He is majoring in economics and applied mathematics. He plans to graduate in the spring of 2014 and to attend graduate school and earn a Ph.D. in economics. He is a recipient of the Rolak-McMillan Scholarship, the James Nordyke Scholarship and the Paul W. Zickefoose Scholarship.

Along with honoring scholarship recipients, the luncheon also recognizes distinguished College of Business alumni and donors.

Brett Winward will be this year's scholarship donor speaker. He graduated from NMSU in 2004 with a bachelor's in finance and a minor in accounting. He is now the commercial receivables supervisor for Phillips 66.

Jackie Kerby Moore was selected as the 2012 College of Business Distinguished Alumna. She graduated from NMSU in 1982 with a double major in management and marketing. She is currently the executive director at the Sandia Science and Technology Park and oversees all aspects of the park program-management, marketing and recruiting of tenant companies.

This year's James F. Cole Memorial Award for Service recipient is College of Business alumnus Don Beasley. He graduated from NMSU in 1972 with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Since then, he has built a legacy of assisting Aggie students in finding, following and funding their career paths. His firm is a major employer of NMSU accounting student interns and graduates.
