NMSU invites students, employers to career fair
While students and employers are encouraged to attend both days, Tuesday, Sept. 18, will focus on business, agriculture, liberal arts and allied health majors while Wednesday, Sept. 19, is for engineering, science and technology majors. Employers can choose to attend either one or both days of the event.
"We are excited to the hosting the 28th annual event and promoting employment opportunities for students, alumni and community guests," said Roseanne Bensley, associate director of NMSU's Career Services.
The Career Expo is open to all levels of students looking for job opportunities including internships, co-ops and professional employment. It will also be open to the public as well as students from other schools in the region.
Student, alumni and guests are encouraged to create an AggieCAREER Manager account on the Career Services website, http://careerservices.nmsu.edu, for additional resources to research employers, develop resumes and review in advance campus interview schedules that will take place during the Career Expo. Bensley said participants should research potential employers in advance, dress professionally and bring several copies of their resume.
Currently 90 employers are registered to attend the Expo. Interested employers can register until the day prior to the event by creating an AggieCAREER Manager account. Those who register after Sept. 16 will be charged a late registration fee. Employers can also register to promote their organization and recruit candidates within AggieCAREER Manager.
In previous years, Career Expo has had more than 100 employers and more than 2,300 candidates participating, making it the largest career fair in New Mexico and West Texas.
